PDXLAN 16.5 shall happen once more!

Alright peoples -

PDXLAN ".5 Series" are LAN Parties that PDXLAN runs/organizes that are MUCH different from the regular "full events" There are still tons of prizes, there is still the awesome network, the awesome internet, pick up game tournaments, and contests. The main difference is that there are not any staff run tournaments. The staff actually get some uber time to frag along side of you.

The ".5" series will continue to "Try and do good" for the world. More details on this later, but the goal is to help those in need just before the Holidays of 2010. Be prepared to have your raffle tickets tied to

1) When you sign up, and
2) How much food you give.

In order for these events to work, we really need your help to make sure they get sold out. Every ticket counts. Therefore, in order for these events to continue, we need to hit about 350 people at the event.

The date for this event will be announced VERY soon, and registration will go live in about 2-3 weeks.

Things you will ask:
1) YES, you CAN bring your own chair to this event.
2) YES, there will be more space between tables

Anything else?

Hint: it's one of the first 2 weekends in November Smile

After this sellout a 16, I'm just guesstimating, but I am pretty sure we will sell out 16.5 if we could promote it, easily.

possibly cross promote it with fallout new vegas (hopefully it will be out around that time fall 2010), get some table games, big poker/blackjack event, or silent auction from community/sponsor donations, and have a casino night to raise money for flood donation?

That would take ALOT of effort and I am just excited that .5 is happening again

I love the .5 LANs. My first PDXLan was 10.5, and I freaking love them! I hope this will continue long into the future. I have my seat already.

Usually there will be a lot of whatever is new and awesome as well as WoW. There are always lots of small games going though of just about anything. for example if I can find a copy of pax imperia 2 that doesn't have the networking code removed I will be playing that all weekend.

There are also tabletop games pretty frequently as well as poker

If anyone has any suggestions for promoting the LAN let me know. I am from Fort Lewis, WA / Tacoma area I could probably advertise a bit. (Flyers etc. on base)? Lots of gamers up here.
