Thanks guys..lol

I forgot to include the pic with the wiring being tucked out of the way -

It really doesn't have the same wow factor at all. It'll definitely be staying out in the open. I just had to order another spool of sleeving since I'll be extending the 8 pin wires to 6 feet long so I can coil it inside and hang it from the drive cover. I did all the other little wires and stuff and as soon as my SATA cables get here I'll do those too.

Man I gotta get this thing done! I haven't even tested the hardware yet.. Shocked

Well I just spent several hours sleeving cables and extending the 8 pin mobo cables so that they are 6 feet long now. They will coil up and be hung up over to the side. I'll be making the hanger next.

I hear a lot of people say that the pin removers are fragile and snap off right away. I know they are frustrating when they just don't seem to want to slide into the proper place so I thought I would share a solution.

The problem is that the ends of the fins are cut square. So I use a really small file like this -

and file a little bit of the inside of the fins to give them a taper almost to a point -

And now with very little effort they slide right in -

I use a Lamptron kit and also a tool I got from Performance PC's -

They both have been filed and they both work great.

So anyway back to the sleeving. Here is my messy table after tonight. Time for a serious cleanup! But you can see lots of gold sleeving and the really long extended wires. I had to order another spool of gold and it will be here Wednesday. Then I can be done with that stuff.

All my hardware is here so I may do a bench test to make sure it fires up instead of waiting until the last minute.

Next Update will be -

Making the hanger.
Adding a mirror to the bottom inside of the case. Just to help lighting bounce around mostly.

That's it for now. I'm off to wax TB Rod in some Bad Company 2 .....

actually he will pwn me bad. Embarassed

This case is pretty amazing, it definitely should get hooked up with water cooling with a red/white/blue type colored water scheme, the air cooling setup just doesn't do it justice.

If you ever do go Watercooled, you should paint each tube Red/White/Blue

It can be done, but you must be very careful installing or it will shed the paint. Wink

It won't be water cooled. It's got enough stuff going on already.

It's for my wife and the only hard core gaming she'll be doing is Plants vs. Zombies. I doubt this thing will ever get hot enough for the fans to spin past low. Wink

I found the most excellent response to this -

It seems Rod and Havok have been conjuring up stuff behind my back!

It is my pleasure to announce a new sponsor -
http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/?lid=1

They will be furnishing a sweet video card for this build. Cool

Thank you to them for their generosity and to Rod and Havok for making it happen. Very Happy
You really caught me by surprise. If everyone only read one post ever, I wish it was this one so they can see what this community is about. Thanks guys.

Ok now back to modding! I thought I would be done with plenty of time to spare. That never happens. Confused

Let's be honest, your wife is an excuse to make the wonder woman mod of your dreams. :p Also everyone knows water cooling is more about the looks than getting a few less degrees than a good air cooler.

I went ahead and bench tested all the hardware and then loaded the OS, did all the updates, loaded games etc. so that it would be done and ready to go after final assembly.

I was very pleased when it booted right up and ran great, no errors, no smoke, etc. Razz

Looks like hell but hey, it's a work table.

Then I turned my attention to the hanger for the wiring. I wanted a gold hanger that looks like her belt clip. So I dug through my stash and found some flat bar -

Looks like it will work. So after a little quick bending around a pipe for the right radius and some sanding-

Then a coat of gold to finish it off -

I mounted it on the drive bay shield so that it should be clear of everything and the wires will loop around it and end up the perfect length -

I'll need to install this almost last so I'm off to do more modding.

I added a mirror to the bottom of the case - Not sure why - I guess I just can't stop -

Then it was bugging me that I could see the green edge of the ram so it needed an adjustment. A quick and real easy mod.

Ahhh much better...no more green -

I went ahead and did the final install on the drives/controllers and hooked up the fans and temp sensors. Everything is well hidden and this case is great to work with for places to run wiring.

Waiting on a couple things for now - more soon.

lol Have you been forgetting to take your OCD medication? Razz Seriously, this is one of those things that eventually gets pointed out by someone in the crowd only after staring at the case for 45 minutes. I love hearing those comments!

Awesome job on this man, seeing it in person will be one of my main highlights of the weekend. Can't wait!

@Bod - Ya there might be a hint of OCD in me.. Rolling Eyes Can't wait to see you again and the Tron bike that I get to ride around on. jk

I popped into Bit-Tech this morning and discovered I was nominated for Mod of the Month over there. Cool

I'm pretty happy except that we all know how these things can turn into popularity contests real fast. I'm new over there so who knows. They have made it so that only people that have been members for at least 2 weeks and made 15 posts can vote so that should help a little.

If you want to check it out - http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=212920

Almost there!!!

I am sooo close to being complete. I cannot believe I am cutting it this close. AND, I won't have the vid card until I get to the Lan. Shocked

I got the sleeving in the mail a day early. Thank you UPS!

I sleeved my 6 foot cables -

And now to stuff it all in there -

There's not as many cables as it looks. I have a mirrored floor so it looks like there's millions of cables in the pic. I will be straightening the wires a little but I'm still making sure everything is where I want it before I lock it all down.

All my fans and led's are working great. I had switched a lot of led's around. Now I have red/white/blue continuity.

I mounted the "Vector" lights to the inside of the door to point them straight inward toward the guts of the case. These are Danger Den led strips but I am hereby renaming them Vector lights cuz I got the idea from him. Wink

I am doing all the little touch ups now. I had to modify a fan for clearance and cut through a wire of course! If Murphy's law kicks in at any time during this build I will find this "Murphy" character and beat him senseless! I'm not havin it.

I will take some good shots of it all together by tomorrow night. Smile

Thanks bud!

I have buttoned it up and shot a few pictures. I ran into a paint boo boo and have had to do some last minute touch up that is giving me trouble but it will be ok.

So here are some decent shots of it fired up with the lights running.

Vid Card is not in there yet obviously. But soon. Wink

Next stop - PDXLAN ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Cool
