Ok so heres my new idea for a MOD
A large Case with a model railroad traveling around the outside then with an incline through a tunnel in the front of the case along the middle to lower area of the inside of the case and out the rear of the case and around again.
the logistics of placing a running train going through the case is somewhat difficult since a train runs on electrical current going through the track but i think i have an idea for that.
here is a real quick sketch of my idea

I can't see the picture from work, but most model rails have little rubber "railroad ties" under the tracks. You could certainly create something solid, like a ramp, and simply lay the track on top. As long as the metal parts are not touching, you are ok.

I know it's a real bad sketch but I only had like 15 min before work today.
I will make a much better sketch this weekend
Does anyone know if this has been done before? I couldn't find any where I searched online

Ummm yea... your gonna need like 3 seats at the lan.
Instead of a train do a roller coaster that goes all around the case.
This is going to be interesting. I do like crazy ideas.

There's what they call z scale trains.
There pretty small do the tracks can make tighter turns.
Of course the model railroad train shop in town doesn't carry the z scale track so it will be an online order and then I will have to see how tight the turn really is

I like it! You could do an upward spiral at the front to bring the train up to the top of the case, then have it traverse across the top, and then fall off the back past the "bridge out" sign. Of course, it could only do this once.... :/ nvm lol

It really depends on what kind of train you want to run around it.
Like this will require a larger turn then say a shorter boxcar.
I would go with this style of track and that there is a 95mm radius.

I love this mod idea maybe use n gauge and keep it all in the case except one tunnel or something but so you can see it in the window of the case..

I have a lead on track in town now so I'm checking it out Tuesday night.
Z scale is smaller then N so I will have to see how much I can keep in the case versus the outside.
Considering the double size Danger Den case.. Might be able to keep the whole track inside it and since there clear would be able to see most of the track.. Tunnels and bridge:)

The Bridge Out sign doesn't matter because the bridge DOES exist in 1985, just make sure you get up to 88MPH AND generate the necessary 1.21 giggawatts before you get there....
