No - any seat can make a leet seat
Cost of Admission is $60.00 per seat.
A leet seat CAN be formed with 2 seats ($120.00) and a $20.00 refund at the LAN. (To ensure the person doesn't buy 2, get a $20 refund, and transfer the second seat to a friend)
Leet seat Perks:
1. Double raffle tickets (as you have 2 seats)
2. 6 Feet of space (Opposed to 3)
3. Double the power (opposed to just 600W)
4. Registration Priority Line (Go to the front!)
5. Up to three 24" monitors!
Bonus: Vector's love and admiration.
Valid Leet Seat combinations for a solid 6 foot table:
* AB / KL / MN / WX *
*We are doing this so that we can guarantee a 6 foot table on the end for the leet seat. If having a crack does not matter to you, then ALL leet seat combinations are as follows:
AB / BC / DE / EF / GH / HI / JK / KL / MN / NO / PQ / QR / ST / TU / VW / WX

I would be interested to see the overall impact this has on body count.
Is it really 500 man? Or is it now 500 seats/tickets.
I think we all agree PDX should grow.

I don't think everyone agree's that PDXLAN should grow past 5-600. Some of the folks in the community have an opinion on this for sure.

I think we all agree PDX should grow. | As Vector has said before, there might be a little growth room in the current venue but power limitations are a large factor in growing the event.

I do not want PDXLAN to grow. I think the size is just right.

On the one hand it is encouraging to see the event sell out but that also means that anyone else won't be able to go. I'd like for anyone who wants to go to be able to go, but as mentioned the current venue can't support that. And not to say that we should change venues as I think Matt has found a real sweet spot but I just wish that we could share the LAN tradition with as many people as possible.

And I'm just curious Pure - why do you think PDXLAN should grow? Not trying to argue, I would really like to hear your reasons.
While it would be nice to share the community we have I would not like to see PDX LAN grow. 530 ish seats is "big enough" that it can be sponsored well and is manageble for Matt/Demented and staff. If it grows into a larger venue, which is what it would have to do, you move up an order of magnitude more headaches, because those venues will have their own electrics, wiring, sound and whatever "stuff" and chargeable staff to do for it. I remember seeing in the forums that one of the things Matt dealt with is having to use venue workers to do the power for the "big" PDXLAN (8? 9? whatever - I didn't know about PDXLAN when that happened) he had in the ?Expo Center?. More costs, higher prices all around, and to me an experience that is much more a convention than a group of friends getting together and gaming.

Oh it is good either way.
I thought Vec had a thread about it growing somewhere a while back.
Biggest lan in USA/World would be a neat title though

I like to think of PDXLAN as I do the "Cheer's" theme song....
Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.
You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name.

Biggest in the world might be hard. Dreamhack in Sweden was 10,000 recently - and yes, the comma is in the right place!
Definitely not my cup of tea.

IMO, 500 is plenty
If the event sold out in 1 day then maybe 500 is not enough, vector added more events per year so we could all game together more. Plus bigger events are harder to run as far as tourneys and you loose the gamer comradely. If ya want to go then get your ticket early
