Getting seats next to friends?

I've never been to a PDX lan before and plan on attending this one. Are seats assigned or do you just show up and sit down? If they are assigned how do you assure that you'll get seats with your friends if your coming in a group. Sorry if this is a noob question or if there is a sticky addressing this.

Groups should buy their tickets through Vector. That way they can be assured of getting the seats they want.

Otherwise, individual seating is assigned/chosen during registration on a first come first served basis.

Group seating can only be purchased if 12 or more seats.. If you have less than 12 seats, each person buy their seat and you all pick seats next to each other..
