Hey guys, Mount and Blade: Fire and Sword is a game that was given out for free at a recent GNW Lan. It has become one of my favorite Lan games recently, because of the size and style of play, and (usually) it is very easy to get a working server up).
It has several different game types that appeal to a large lan party.
Captains Battle:
You control a squad of X number of men and battle other captains and their squads.
Captains Co-Op Battle:
Same, but with teams of 2+ captains each controlling squads of Xnumber of men.
Siege:
One team defends a castle, while a second team attacks.
TDM:
It is what it sounds like.
The biggest reason I am posting about this, is because it would be a lot of fun to get some big games going, and maybe even an unofficial tourny (not at 20.5). It is only $2.49 on Steam sale right now, and for that amount of money, it would easily pay you back in fun during lan play.
Give it a thought.
Thanks guys.

Pretty much this. One of the best lan games I've ever played.
There are a couple of dedicated server files I found while at the lan, but I never actually set one up because I was unsure if I could trust them. If I do the work, make sure they are safe, and figure out how to set it up, would someone who brings a server be willing to host a server for us?
@ the unofficial tourney idea: I'd be willing to put something together, it honestly sounds like an amazing time.

For sake of the more casual experience, I have to agree. I'm personally more fond of Warband, and mods, since there is a lack of guns. Just my personal opinion on the matter. F&S does provide many more gameplay modes that bring a lot to the table though. I suppose if we were to have either of the titles; F&S would be the way to go hands down.

Sounds like an amazing time? Onlyi fyou like people at the LAN screaming, Biggun yelling with every charge folks laughing at some of the attacks and kills, and just generally having a loud, great good time. i was rather bummed out because I had trouble during one of the big games played at GNWLAN. Everyone around me was having a blast, and I was fighting frickin' ata connectors that like to come loose.... Hearing "Look out, the naked man is coming for you!" behind me made me want to get in and stop his willy from wagging , just for fun!

Everyone who doesn't have this game and attends PDXLAN should do themselves a favor and get it. There is another post on here about how PDXLAN has mutated into a WAN party in which everyone plays games online instead of on LAN. I for one have noticed a lot less yelling across the room than in days of old. I say let's bring back the days of LAN games and get everyone in the same server screaming at each other!

I know there are more than 4 people who play this game. Please post if you're interested so this will happen.
