StarCraft II One sided?

Is it just me or does it look like the Protoss have Uber units compared to Terran?? The way they present it the Mother ship are the best thing since sliced cheese. It just doesn't seem fare to make Protoss the best again...

In my opinion it looks like the idea is to have economy be the balance. Sure the protos may have the uber units but the human units could be cheaper, kind of a zergling type thing.

Only time will tell, I look forward to getting to play when it's released. Smile

On the starcraft2 website they only show like half of the protoss units, around 1/3 of the terran units, and no zerg units have been released yet. Protoss has been pretty much the main race shown off at these few presentations for a game thats ETA is over a year away so you can't judge the entire game on this. Protoss is not overpowered and Starcraft will probably go down as the most balanced game made.

Protoss weren't the best.

They've developed the Protoss more than the other races so far. It's not even close to release yet.

That might be true... Point of the game, especially being a terran is to be sneaky or to have absolute brute force.

I've watched Terran burn protoss many many times, and it wasn't like one player was obviously better than the other.

100% false. I played SC2 at Blizzcon, and it is by no means 1 sided at all. The mothership is by no means imbalanced whatsoever. It has great damage potentials, but isn't invulnerable. It has a lot of HP, but can die.

It takes an enormous amount of tech, which will be taking away from your expanding/army capabilities at that time. If scouted/anticipated correctly, the other player could establish a lot more map control and or pressure the Toss expo as a counter measure. This is of course assuming that the Toss is going relatively straight to mothership by turtling (Which is a terrible idea).

Spork, the economy theory isn't quite how it works. Actual protoss play style does not involve using large units, though that is somewhat of the lore of the game. The actual play style most times actually includes fast expanding and massing. Neither race really has an overall sense of better units in either SC1 or SC2 in my experience so far.

I do not think you hear nearly the knowledge for the game that you need to in order to make such judgements. I'd imagine this opinion game from "3v3 BGH!!!" "3v3 $$$$ GOGOGO". Protoss is definitely not imbalanced vs Terran, and it's not the other way around either. And no Xelmon, that is not the point of the game, lol. Terran play style in SC1 and seems to carry into SC2 still relies on strong progressive pushes that go throughout the game.

Sorry, most times when people make threads like "Could this be over powered?" they say things to make it seem like it obviously is, yet still act as if it is a question. Gets aggravating *twitch*. Hearing people say incorrect things about Blizzard games to me is about the same as people saying "BUT IRAQ HAD WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION, WE NEEDED TO SAVE OUR FREEDOM!!!" to me xD

There's a reason Starcraft is still being played in tournaments, regardless of its crappy resolution and 2bit graphics.

If you saw a terran lose against a toss, chances are either one player was better or the terran didn't build right. There are certain strats versus protoss that you wouldn't carry versus Zerg.

Against Toss: vultures/tanks with turrets and the occasional bunker.
Against Zerg: M&M or goliaths, with a couple tanks and turrets.

Word.
