Two questions:

Vector: The additional seating: Are you required to pay the $6 to use it? I don't mind paying, just asking.

Poker Pros: If a poker semi-n00b wanted to learn the game well, what would be the best tools/resources to learn from, in your opinion?

Wow, this sounds like a lot of fun. I remember playing in an unoffical poker tournament back when pdxlan was at the Expo center.

One question for Vector: when you say poker I assume it's texas hold'em?

As for learning to play the game better, I would say you could play free online poker to learn about the game better (Percentages/Odds, etc). For me learning to play poker better was playing with some friends. This is where you get the real knowledge I think. You physically get to see peoples faces around the table and learn about how to spot tells. You should get some buddys togeather and play to learn.

I just tried to buy a seat to the poker tournament through the online store here. It flagged the certificate as being almost a year expired for the secure server. It seems like you all are trustworthy guys. I'm just looking for some reassurance that it'll be above board if I buy one of these.

You don't enter any credit card info on PDXLAN's website for 1. Since we exclusively use paypal, all security is all on them.

So our certificate is irrelevant. (Then again I would have expected you to know that)

Plus if you're entering credit card info on a site with a certificate signed like ours, the expiration date should be the least of your worries. Wink

yes!! You do NOT need to be a attendee to register. Just make sure your friend shows up BY 9PM on Saturday night in the hotel and meets you. Tournament will start about 9:05 PM

6.00 is what it costs, you have to get a ticket on the store beforehand to play.

Already had purchased the $6 ticket. Thought the $6 was only for getting in. Thought needed more to actually gamble.

See you there.

PDXLAN will be holding a 64 player poker tournament this year. Hopefully you already know that and have gotten your tickets! The part you all are now finding out is that this Poker Tournament is very special. We will have 8 pretty cool people in the tournament!

1. Jeremy (Danger Den)
2. Erik (Intel)
3. Sam (Nvidia)
4. David (Palit)
5. Jeff (ATI)
6. JR (Patriot)
7. Jessica (PDXLAN)
8. Dave (Antec)

Directly after Intel’s presentation (About 9PM) Poker Players will head over to the main lobby of the hotel, and go to the “Mount Bachelor” room. (Next to the bar). 64 people will be playing.

The game will be Texas Holdem.

Round 1 will be 4 tables of 8 people (1 “celeb” per table) encompassing the first 32 players
Round 2 will be 4 tables of 8 people (1 “celeb” per table) encompassing the rest of the players
Each table plays until just 1 person is left, the Table winner.

The Final round:
All 8 table winners will meet up at the grand final table – playing until 1 person is left. (The Winner)

In the Mt. Bachelor room, there will be a Bar tender from 9:15 – 11:15 PM serving drinks for those who wish to order and pay for them.

1st Place Prize is 2 1GB 8800GT's for SLI goodness.

Note: there are like 6 tickets left to this in our store!! Get them quick!

If you have already bought in and would like to guarantee you win some money, I will buy your chips for $11. That covers your buy-in and you make $5 and it's your only chance to beat me.
