| Hey again bout the rooms |
|
so me and my buddies bought the room and its all reserved. So as we bought a double do we HAVE to have only 4 people or during this event are we able to have more? Because it would be cool if my whole group stayed together in one room instead of 2 but is that REALLY a rule? and if so just wondering why so?. and i was just needing just one more spot because we have 5 and it says 4 people max. speculation on this? If i did something wrong im sorry! And like i told vector im trying to pay so we can keep doin this each year : ) just dont want to get a wholenother room for one more person.

I believe the official response is:
The hotel sets the limit at 4 people. Either because of fire code, or personal policy, it doesn't matter, that's the rule. If they find you have 5,6,20 people in your room, they can probably ask you to leave without a refund.
I believe the unofficial response is:
Many people have shared more than 4 to a room, just don't get caught.

if you want your whole group to stay in one room you have two options.
1) don't get caught, but posting here might have a negative effect on your stealthiness.
2) call hotel ask for the person in charge of the pdx lan promotion and talk to them, I bet if you paid a little extra per person they probably wouldn't care.

I believe it has been mentioned here before but I'll repeat it: Get kicked out of the hotel and you'll be kicked out of the event. Don't let that happen.

Oh yeah, and a little hint: the hotel manager frequents these forums.

illuyshin,
The correct answer to your question is: maximum occupancy per room is 5. This is not just a policy of the Hotel, it is Fire Code. If we discover you have more than 5 people to a room we will ask you to leave and you will forfeit all deposits and payments. (It has happened in the past.) This is a safety issue and we take it very seriously. We want everyone to have a great time while they're here, but more importantly, we want everyone to be safe.
BizSAR, I do indeed monitor the forums. This enables me to answer questions as they arise (such as this one), or address issues if any come up....although I've been a little slow on this one...sorry.
Darth, I think you spelled it wrong, instead of hawt try O L D! At least, that's what CMarc always tells me. He's given up calling me Mom, now I'm just "old woman".
Looking forward to seeing you all in July!
Karen

Haha! I know! That's why I always refer people to your hotel that are flying in. You won't see such service many other places.
