| Ghostbusters Proton pack custom case *Update 9-20* |
|
This will be a pretty slow moving build as I am having to hand fabricate the whole thing. I am building a scratch built Ghostbuster's proton pack and neutrino wand! I have wanted to make one of these since I saw the first movie opening day. This will be a fairly accurate screen pack, and will be worn and carried on the back. I will have a desktop stand for it as well. This will also me my first h20 cooled pc, so wish me luck there. I may be bugging some of you guys for guidance. I will be able to fit a mATX Board in it, and if funds permit, an I7 based system. I wont be done for July, but shooting for an lan in November. This is something I have wanted to make for a long time. I am hoping to get a small milling machine to make my life easier.

Yes DB it is, this is what it will end up looking like hopefully... The part I am currently working on is the gun wand body.

No it will only hold them in place. I need to build a ghost trap to actually trap them!
Got a few free moments with the wifey and kids gone, so I snuck out to the shop for a bit. Made a little progress.
Got the rear handle angle cut, and formed a mounting tab for it.
Mounted up with a rivet to add strength to it: I have countersunk rivets ordered and on their way. I will leave this rivet in temprarily while I braze weld the handle on. I will then drill out this rivet, countersink it a bit, add the countersunk flanged rivet and it shoud be flush mounted then. A dab of jb weld, and it should almost disappear.
Looking inside at the mounting tab in action.

Got my front barrel cut and turned down the collar and extention tip. It came out with a really odd faceted effect, which I actually kinda dug and it gives it a bit of "bling"
