That's right...I said Wonder Woman.
I am building one for the wifey this time. She loves WW and so I thought I would surprise her for her birthday in April.
I looked for quite a while to find a case that would fit what my concept was. I found this one and ordered it -
Its the NZXT Lexa S
I'm going to have quite a bit of airbrushing done on the front and right side. I'll be using some of these images for artwork -
I forgot how hot she was!! Since this is 2011 I will have to make her a little hotter and more seductive so the artwork will end up more towards the "R" rating or maybe "NC-17". We'll see.
I'll incorporate some of the colors of her outfit into the case. I'll show you why I chose this case specifically as soon as I start making progress.
And as usual, I love having a secret surprise that I hold onto until the end. Here is a hint of what it might have to do with -

Shame on you! It's full of win...I hope. Hot chicks in costume has to be good right?
I got a quote back from Steve Nunez on the air brushing and it looks like I may need to start saving.
I didn't get a response back at all from Smooth Creations so I may try again.

I'm not referring to the basic concept. I read in the comments that they have decided that she is supposed to be a business woman juggling a CEO position while taking spinning classes and fighting crime on the side. If that was the original character in the comic, fine, but when you change the basic character to fit some mold of bland prime time television that's when you get fail.

I found a local guy I'm going to see on Tuesday. He's done a lot of stuff and he's right in my back yard!
He's had stuff go to SEMA and he just did a case that will be in CPU next month I guess.
I'll pm you as well to see what you got cooking.
Thx

Hmmm kinda funny looking outfit..
I think they can do way better than that. I guess the blue pants and boots are what look odd. They need to stick with the red, white, and blue.
Cool find - thx

I don't think there's enough airbrushing in the world to fix that one DB.

I like the busty costume. I don't like her manish face, so I'll focus on the costume. |
Those pants are terrible!
Oh, and a true wonder woman wouldn't need fake breasts.

It looks like I will be shipping the case off to New York for some air brush work. I've been talking with Steve Nunez thx to DB's suggestion.
It's going to be one spendy paint job!!!
I don't like the rough texture that the case came with so I have decided to sand it down and paint it with a high end automotive finish. It's something I'm used to working with when I paint cars so it should go just fine. It will be Acrylic Urethane gloss black. It's an awesome finish and is exactly what you want when air brushing.
Here is the case update -
First, the original finish = rough powder coat = not good for air brushing
So, Time for a tear down
I thought I would see if I could just wet sand it down but this powder coat is TOUGH!
Barely knocks it down -
Remember when I said this was going to be a spendy paint job?
Well here is the first $235 worth of stuff. And that's with my discount!
I told you this was good paint...
So I grabbed my DA sander and knocked it down in about 2 minutes so now I have a sanded case that's ready for an epoxy primer. I'll be using PPG DP-90. It's a black epoxy that will provide sealing and priming in one coat. And you can lay it on thick and sand it smooth for a perfect surface to shoot a mirror black over. Luckily I already had the primer so it will save me about $100.
So that's it for now, but I should be shooting the primer maybe tomorrow.
