| In the video settings in beta there was a drop down for texture resolution, only option was low. There is supposedly a highres option out there somewhere that was supposed to be in the release game. |
mine is set to high |
how does it look compared to the posted screen shots?
And what do you think of the released game? |
let me get screenshot for you. do you use the ingame screeny tool or fraps? |
In game PrintScreen key on the keyboard.

Nice, but that 1280x720 resolution sounds terrible for gaming.

So is there any group that has something going along a guild line, that are PDXLAN regulars?
I want to play in a group, and my preference is to play with others in this community specifically. I'm by no means hard-core, as I have 2 small mini-me's running around my house, so I will probably be doing casual questing.

My friend is considering buying me a copy of TOR, on the condition that I pay him back,
He said it would be 90 dollars because even though the game includes 1 month sub, it wouldn't let him activate without a subscription of some sort so he is going to buy a 2 month card.
True?

You can set up a reoccuring monthly payment if you use a credit card/paypal, otherwise you have to buy 60 day game cards which = 30$.
So 60$ for game + $30 for game card.

I got really excited about this and went to go checkout/buy one today at the sony store. I was very unimpressed as even the sales associate was. He said to look forward to the next version.
while its nice that the screens are OLED, it still feels like your looking into one of those old red toys that spin the disc of pictures. I'll happily keep my nvsurround setup vs that $800 "toy". This is all just my opinion of course, you got my hopes WAY up for a bit DB

True. When you buy the game, you can't just play it with the 30 days it comes with, you have to either sign up for a recurring subscription, or add a 60-day game card (bought separately for $30) to your account.
That whole practice just seems really shady, but I suppose I should have expected it. Both Bioware and EA don't exactly have stellar track records when it comes to customer satisfaction/DRM shenanigans.

Yeah I agree, while I loved KOTOR 1 / 2, $90 bucks seems like a huge trial fee! But I bet I will like KOTOR.

I bought the CE and after playing in the early access, I pre-payed for an additional 6 months. Honestly, not just being a fanboiy of Star Wars, but this game has really done something that other MMO's have failed to (at least for me) since Everquest. It has engaged me in a compelling story line. The voice acting is superb and it really makes you feel as if you are the hero of the story.
If you like Star Wars, are looking for a new story within the Star Wars universe, and are interested in a multiplayer experience, then I would suggest you find a friend who has the game, and ask them to play for an hour. At the end of that first hour, you will know if you want the game.

That's the first thing anyone has said about this game that piqued my interest. Voice acting and interesting story are lacking from most MMOs... WoW had it going for a bit there, but now it's just absurd and half-assed (i.e. Pandas... Really?).
I hope they release 7 day trials sooner than later.
