Lots of people have bought the India version of the game because they were playing equivalent of $26. EA has figured this out and has adjusted the price all ready, but lots of people found a great deal.

They are starting to crack down on that. They are starting to push a straight price around the globe. I just don't understand how it can be $50 here but $20 some other country.

i know our currency is more than most, so i can see it being really hard to push that on other countrys because that would probably be loss of players on their behalf.
example:
1 USD = 32.60755 RUB (6/13/2012)
20.90 USD = 681.34 RUB
50 USD = 1630 RUB
Minimum Wage:
$2.00 in International Currency RUB
30 days average $58 /night (21 or more nights stay) 1740 RUB = Random Cheap Apartment Rent per month in ST Petersburg
pretty simple math, if they did that, they would most likely lose money because it would cost just as much for the game as it does for a month worth of rent. I think people would prefer to have shelter than a game.

I think Brazil was like $22 USD or something in that neighborhood, so might have been from EA Brazil? Speculation since he doesn't seem to want to say

And to me it makes sense...lots of things are this way. This also is speculation but I would assume the gaming scene in, say, India or Brazil is not really as big as it is here, and high-end hardware is not as readily available, making their market there smaller. Another factor is that Americans pretty much WILL pay around $50 bucks for games and expansions and the like, whereas in countries that aren't so spoiled as we are there might be more important things for them to spend their money on. $25US there goes farther than it does here in terms of essentials, as HpK pointed out. Thus, EA charges less because any money they make on sales in India, Brazil or anywhere else globally is just extra money they make with very, very little extra cost to them.

Sorry gang,
Messing wth game files violates the EULA for the game. Please take this outside of the PDXLAN forums.
Thanks.
