| New at PDXLAN November: Create your own tournament! |
|
Have you ever wanted a tournament for the game YOU like?
Do you think there are enough people in the room to do a tournament?
Well, PDXLAN will be sponsoring attendee-run tournaments at PDXLAN November. How do you get your tournament sponsored?
Step 1:
Just get 12 teams to compete. If it is a 5v5 you will need 60 people. If it is a 1v1 you will need 12. If it is a 2v2 you need 24. Get it?
Step 2:
Build Momentum! Get the friends you have that like the game to come to PDXLAN November. You will need paid attendees for your 12 teams - and we will do a seat check.
Step 3:
Once you have the needed number of paid attendees, contact Vector ASAP and he will sponsor your tournament with prizes! He'll make sure you understand that you, or your group is running the tournament, and that you should not rely on the staff for help or servers, after all this event is so they can game! Do note however that the longer you wait, the more chance of another tournament getting the prizes!
Step 4:
Once Vector announces your tournament with prizes, it is a done deal! Prepare for your tournament and make some noise! Have a plan for signups, and be very vocal about when the tournament is, rules, etc on the forums leading up to the event.
Final Step:
At the event, build some momentum around your given sponsor! Did Plantronics sponsor your tournament? Then post on their wall! Thank them! Did NVIDIA sponsor your tournament? Thank Them.
