It seems that all of the people wanting to sign up for the beta killed their website. But they are not angry.

Hello Heroes!

As you may have noticed, you killed our website. We are not angry. We’re very pleased you want to be in the Beta.

The beta for Heroes will be divided into several stages, the first of which is all about testing out this new way of getting games to you all; by downloading and installing them from a website. We’ll also be trying out some other dull stuff to do with servers, so we are expecting the systems to be down as much as they are up.

To help us track down all the technical issues, we have asked a third party to find us some specialist Beta testers. We are doing all this because we want to be sure that when we launch Heroes, everything will work smoothly.

So hang in there! We will announce here when it’s time to sign up for the public stage of the Beta.

Edit: This is from May 6. Not today. Oh well. I'll leave it posted it anyway.

I was able to get a QA boss account. But it seems it is only a forum. I think they have to approve us as a beta tester before they send out download links, etc. Have you guys gotten any further than I have?

I'm in the same boat. I hear they are taking the form you filled out when applying seriously. They were also swamped with requests, so I'd expect them to be really picky about who they let in, especially at first, and then open it up more as they need load testing performed. The game still has a Q3 2008 release date, so it could be a few months.

Same here, but I was reading on the forums and it looks like they're going to release Beta spots over the course of a couple weeks. Adding more people in each round.

Got accpeted into the Beta, Finally.

And got this from them, yay:
"QA Boss has been made aware of a security breach which exposes QA Boss forum user names, email addresses and encrypted passwords. While passwords are encrypted, it must be assumed that the encryption can be broken.

As a safety precaution, it is advisable that anyone who uses passwords on other accounts, particularly email, which may be similar to the one used on the QA Boss system, should consider changing their non QA Boss passwords."

Ok, so I was just got done playing a little and well it's pretty meh. I hope some other people get in and see what I mean.

I don't think anything I stated would break the NDA since everything I said has also been in magazine articles but I changed my post just in case. Thanks for the heads up.
