UNOFFICIAL Team Fortress 2 Tournament *Details*

We have an attendee that would like to host an unofficial TF2 tournament at PDXLAN 14 this summer, and has acquired prizes for it. This tournament is not run by PDXLAN or its staff, but we have promised that we will support it in terms of getting the word out as I know there are a number of people interested in this.

PDXLAN will not be making the rule sets, map selection, server config, this is an attendee run tournament. We make these disclaimers so that after the event people can't blame PDXLAN for the tournament misgivings, etc. (As has happened before with unofficial tournaments)

That said the person running it seems to be very organized. I will let them post more details.

The Gaming Northwest crew will be hosting a TF2 tournament. The tournament be 9 vs. 9. The main goal of this tournament is to meet new players/people in the community, so teams will be picked at random by the Gaming Northwest staff. Please use this forum thread as the sign up for the tournament. Prizes will be provided to the winning team. This will be a tournament about having fun and not being overly competitive

Please reply to this thread if you are interested so we can get a general idea to the number of people who want to join in on the fun.

Details
- There will be 8 teams of 9 players in the tournament
- The tournament will start at 10PM on Saturday.
- All teams will be chosen at random by the Gaming Northwest staff
- It will be a Highlander tournament (Thanks Somethingcool for the idea)
- 9 players per team and 1 player per class
- The tournament will be single elimination with 3 rounds total. The third round being the finals. A team will win the round if they win the best two out of three attempts at the map during the round.
- All maps will be Capture Point ABCBA maps.

---- Round 2 Map: Granary
---- Round 3 Map: Badlands
- Classes will be limited to 1 person per class as stated above
- Spawn camping will not be tolerated. A team will get two warnings for spawn camping. The third instance will be an instant elimination by your team for the tournament. Again, this tournament is about fun.
- Any cheating or hacks verified by a Gaming Northwest staff member will result in instant elimination by your team for the tournament
