PDXLAN originally started with just two "Main Events" per year. Due to demand of different LAN types we also have two other types of LAN parties: "PDX November" and "Vector LAN".

Main Events (Summer and Winter)

Main Events are our most popular event types, and we do our "Winter Event" in February, and our "Summer Event" in July. These 550 person mega-LAN parties are some of the largest in the United States. (Pictured above) These events usually start on a Friday evening and end Monday evening giving tons of time to play games, meet other gamers, attend sponsor presentations, visit sponsor booths, play in LAN contests, and play in official tournaments. In addition there is a charity component which allows attendees to choose to participate in giving to charities like Smile Train, Child's Play, or The American Red Cross. Buy your tickets for these events fast - as every PDXLAN Main event has sold out in the past 10 years.

PDXLAN November

PDX November Events were added in 2007 as our main charity food drive. Taking place when local food banks need donations the most PDX November strives to raise non-perishable foods for local food banks. 400 Gamers earn prizes based on how much food they donate, and earn charity raffle tickets for the charity raffle. PDXLAN encourages gamers to do "micro drives" within their circles of friends, family, and co-workers to get food in the weeks leading up to PDX November.  The November events are great events to get TONS of gaming in as well as give back to local charity. Events typically sell out about 3 weeks before the event, and raise over 30,000 pounds of food.

Vector LAN (21+)

Vector LAN Events were added in 2012 for the LAN "Purist" who like LAN parties that have no announcements, no contests, just time to game. In addition these events have a no-host bar in the room where attendees can have cocktails or beer and wine. Vector LAN tickets come with two vouchers. One voucher for a free local beer, and another for a free cocktail. Vector LANs also have two traditions included: Rock band and Cereal LAN. Rock band is set up by a PDXLAN attendee who has quite the setup (Complete with lights, multi monitors, and more). Cereal LAN is where attendees bring a box of their favorite cereal and put it on a table for all to share. Imagine two 8 foot tables with cereal boxes looking like books organized on the shelf. PDXLAN buys the milk.
