PDXLAN 15 ended just about 1 week ago, and as everyone re-adjusts to their work schedules with Mountain Dew and Starbucks, PDXLAN would like to take a moment to thank the following:
Sponsors: ASUS, IZ3D, Patriot, Crucial, Antec, Surplus Gizmos, Intel, NVIDIA, CPU Magazine, and Danger Den. Thank you all for your generous donations of prizes, swag, and food you bought for the attendees! Thank you!!!
Volunteers: Thank you for helping set up and tear down. The amount of work you do for Taco Bell tacos is amazing! You don't get thanked enough for the hours you put in to make sure the network cords are all working, taping the power cords down, and crimping over 80 ends this lan!
Staff: Thank you PDXLAN staff! Demented, Payback, Midget, Sneaky, C:/, Peach, Spork, Backwards, Bartz, BizSar, cmarc, Omega, Nomad, Maloch, Voyd, and Geekboy. You all work so hard, and I see you all giving so much so that the attendees can have a great time. You all do a kick butt job, and I look forward to the Staff Retreat!
Attendees: Wow. PDXLAN has the best attendees from any LAN Party I have EVER been too. The amount you all help one another, the amount you guys look after one another 's property, the amount of thanks after the event you give staff, the amount you are willing to help staff members, and the best Case Mods per Capita of ANY LAN Party in the USA. For as long as you guys keep coming, I will promise to do my best to make sure I provide everything you need to have a good time with your friends.
Thanks to ALL!!! PDXLAN must have done a great job with PDXLAN 15 as there are already over 400 people signed up for PDXLAN 16 in JULY 2010! I look forward to seeing you all in July!

NVIDIA Snuggie Video Contest |

For those lucky enough to win a NVIDIA snuggie at PDXLAN 16, there is a contest to make an infomercial about the NVIDIA snuggie. There has been a few submissions, and a number of people asking questions about this contest. Nvidia decided to post rules and tips for the contest (below). It looks like you guys that won one have some more time. Check out what Paul wrote:
Here are the expanded details for the Snuggie Contest!
- Videos should be an “infomercial” of the NVIDIA Snuggie
- Videos need to be submitted (online on youtube) by February 14th.
- Video has to feature the NVIDIA Snuggie (duh!)
- Don’t do anything illegal in the videos
- Videos should be 30 seconds to 1 minute in length
- Winner will be announced Friday, February 19th
NVIDIA will judge the video on the following factors:
- Creativity
- Use of NVIDIA and the NVIDIA Snuggie in the video
First Place Prize will get NVIDIA 3D Vision Glasses + Samsung SyncMaster 2233RZ
Second Place Prize = TBA

PDXLAN is just a few days away, so here is the information you need as an attendee:

2. Raffle Tickets Handed out last Day at Noon
3. BYOS - If you have a gaming server for server row, bring it (Free) and talk to Payback.

NVIDIA Club SLI members will get a chance to win one!!!
Making their very first LAN appearance will be some systems with the upcoming GF100 graphics card. Besides being some of the first gamers to get to see GF100, Club SLI members will get the first chance to actually win a GF100!!!* And some icing on the cake…..the card will be signed by NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang!
Contest details:
Come to PDX LAN 15 and show NVIDIA, as well as the rest of the LAN, how excited you are about GF100. This can be done by such things as but not limited to:
- Making a sign that says how awesome you think GF100 is going to be
- Creating a GF100 t-shirt or costume
Think NVIDIA is about to open up another can of WHOOP-ASS? Think GF100 is going to be best card ever? Let everyone at the LAN know about it. NVIDIA staff will choose the three people who they think are the most excited about GF100 to compete for a signed GF100 graphics card. Details of that competition will be announced at the event. No other LAN does what PDXLAN does in terms of Internet connections. With the awesomeness that is Notoes and Comcast, PDXLAN takes multiple cable modems and aggregates them into a uber Internet connection. Most lans filter what you can get to because of lack of bandwidth. We have so much bandwidth because of Notoes and Comcast that the Internet has been wide open for a few events now. Take time at the event to thank Notoes for the uber Comcast hookup!
