PDXLAN Announces a NEW event type!
Friday, 11 April 2008

Over the past few PDXLAN's we have noticed the growing numbers of MMO players wanting to play MMO games while at the LAN. It is for this reason PDXLAN will be doing a brand new type of event. This event should be viewed as separate from PDXLAN, and it is not PDXLAN overflow as "EX" was at PDXLAN 3.

We will be hosting the first "PDXMMO" event July 18-21 2008. This event will seat 80~100 people and be held at the Holiday Inn Ballroom (which is about a 3 minute walk to the Conference Center where PDXLAN 12 will be). Participants of PDXMMO may not play in PDXLAN 12 tournaments, but part of PDXMMO admission will include participation in Contests, Presentations, and Raffles at PDXLAN 12. PDXMMO will NOT be linked to PDXLAN for network / lan gaming, but it will have its own dedicated Comcast Cable Modems dedicated for MMO play online. Participants will be able to host their own LAN Servers at PDXMMO. The PDXMMO event will have 1 dedicated tournament, and it will be World of Warcraft related.

Registration for PDXMMO will go live May 1st (Along with PDXLAN 12.5). If you have more questions, you can ask in our dedicated PDXMMO forums at the PDXLAN Forums.

It should also be noted that PDXMMO and PDXLAN 12.5 will share the Conference Center in November making a 400 person Lan Party, ".5" Style.

PDXLAN 12 Announces Frontlines Fuel of War Tournament!
Monday, 10 March 2008

This July PDXLAN will host a 5v5 Fronlines: Fuel of War 5 vs. 5 Tournament at PDXLAN's 500 gamer LAN Party. The tournament will be double elimination and play will take place in the Intel Tournament area. In addition to the tournament, all attendees of the event will recieve a FREE copy of Frontlines courtesy of THQ!

Game Overview:
Frontlines: Fuel of War is an open-world First Person Shooter set on the frontlines of tomorrow. In a world ravaged by a global energy crisis, environmental decay, and economic depression, players assume the role of an elite soldier in the Western Coalition Army on an epic crusade against the Red Star Alliance to control the last of the world’s oil reserves. Frontlines:
Fuel of War combines cinematic, non-linear game play, with next generation firepower and a revolutionary Frontline Combat System™ to deliver the most thrilling and intense FPS to date.

Features:
- Frontline Combat System – In both single player and multiplayer, players join the forces on
the frontline that result in focused combat and increased intensity while allowing player choice.
- Open World Environment – In both single player and multiplayer, players can create their own path to victory with non-linear mission objectives and destructible environments. The player chips away at the battle instead of standard die and redo system.
- Next Generation Firepower - Over 60 next generation vehicles and weapons inspired by military designs of the near future. Including Jets, helicopters, tanks, APC’s and more.
- Customizable Soldier System – Character customization allows you to represent your play
style through character choices, weapon load out and role specialization.
- Advanced Team Play – Supports up to 32 players on Console and 64 players on PC via LAN or Internet with shared targeting systems, squad based VOIP and more.
