One thing that makes PDXLAN very unique is it's contests. This PDXLAN we have come up with a contest very unique, and that involves everyone. In fact, ANYONE in the room can win some video cards! Taking from the awesome show "The Amazing Race" on CBS, we have developed an adaptation that will work for the LAN. Here is how it will work:
Tables elect 2 people from their 24 to run the Amazing Race. These two people will be put to mental and lightly physical challenges. In addition, there will be U-turns and other devious detours. After each leg of the race, 2 teams will be eliminated. The next leg starts with the teams in the order they checked in. This continues until the final round in which there can only be one winner.
Prizes:
- The 2 people who win the race will win a video card each.
- 3 RANDOM people from the table of winners will receive a video card
- 19 people will win some other stuff. Everyone at the table wins.
This contest is sponsored heavily by AMD and Sapphire. They wanted to do something for a whole table and this is what Vector came up with. So... which table will win? 22 tables will compete, only 1 will win! |

Alright, this is your gut check. Is your computer ready? Have you installed all the games you want to play? Patched them to perfection? Have you ordered Dust-Off to blow up the dust bunny civilization that has taken residency? Have you gotten enough computer mod lights installed in your computer to be seen from space? This is your gut check, you have just over 24 days to get it done.
PDXLAN 19 has a lot planned that we haven't let "slip" out yet. One of those things is the awesome amount of prizes we have in store for you. We'll be announcing those one by one this week, and the week to come.
For now, announcements aside, a few points of business to pay attention to:
1. The last day to buy a ticket is Feb 6th.
2. The last day for ticket transfers is Feb 6th.
3. Waivers will be put out Feb 6th to print and sign.
